Tips for planting Wild Game Buffet blend:

This all-around mix of perennials and bi-annuals takes into account most conditions (sun-shade, wet-dry, soil types, drainage, slope, traffic, etc.). It will grow 4-5 years without reseeding.  Its varying rates of germination and maturation ensure there is a preferred plant age and type at any given time to satisfy all the hungry critters feeding on it. This blend is devoured by deer and upland birds alike and is available in 4.25 lb., 8.50 lb. or 50 lb. containers. Its seeding rate if seeded properly is 8-10 lbs per acre.  This is an excellent choice for shady areas such as trails or the edge of a woods.  This seed can be planted anytime during the growing season, as long as there is enough moisture.  A late planting will give you tender rape and ryegrass for the first hunting season, an early seeding will give you extra forage for the winter.  You probably wont need to mow this its first year, but it should be mowed 1 or 2 times per year.  This is an excellent seed to frost seed brassicas into during its second year, or to frost seed into maintained trails or openings not accessible by equipment.
