Tips for planting Northern Hardy - Vernal Alfalfa:

This high energy blend is extremely winter hardy, very drought tolerant, and will last up to five or six years. In addition, deer love alfalfa! This blend grows best in well-drained soils and in full sun. Seeding rate: 8-10 lbs per acre.  It can be planted anytime during the growing season as long as there is enough moisture to germinate.  Vernal alfalfa should be mowed 2 or 3 times per year.
