No-Plow
Any of our products can essentially be used with a no or minimum tillage method of planting. It is more important to select the proper product for the soil type and amount of sun exposure. As with any planting, controlling weeds will become your most important part of the process. Simply spray round-up on the area once or twice (three times may be needed in some areas). Next, get rid of the vegetation by mowing or cutting it as much as possible. An optional step would be to rough up the soil a little to get better soil to seed contact. You can do this by using a hand rake or pulling a drag or some other heavy object over the soil with an ATV. In more remote areas, I like to use a weed wacker to beat up the soil a little. When spreading the seed, you might want to spread it a little thicker than you would normally apply it. Maybe up to 50% thicker (the extra money you spend on seed will be made up for in less time and money spent on working up the soil). Now, all you do is pray for rain. As always, adding fertilizer will help greatly.
This is a great way to get a food plot started in clearings and other remote areas where getting implements in is tough. It is also an acceptable means of establishing a food plot if you don't have access to equipment.
