Tips for planting  blend:

This fast germinating, inexpensive mix of biennials is designed for that late season planting (Aug. - Sept.).  It establishes itself before winter sets in and provides a high amount of energy and protein level to deer at a time when most nutrition available is of low value.  Your bucks will find this a place where they can go during the rut to get a high amount of nutrition in a short amount of time.  It grows best in areas that receive full sun.  This blend will be one of the first of your plots to green up in the spring and provide your deer with nutrition into the next year.  The major advantage to planting this is that your plot will be very clean and free of weeds.  This is a great blend to plant in that newly worked area that you have spent all year eradicating the weeds.  It is also a good blend to plant as a second crop after your deer have eaten up the first one as might happen with a small soybean plot.  A good strategy here would be to frost seed in some clover the following spring to create a great plot that will last for years.
